sick columbian red tail

throatoyster Apr 06, 2004 12:54 PM

i've got a columbian red tail about a year and a half old. i noticed that he started to get what basically looked like snot coming out of his mouth. i have no idea what it could be, he hasn't shown any signs of sickness since i've had him, and i haven't changed anything in his cage, i.e. humidity and temp are what they've always been. any ideas on what this is? any help is apreciated. thanks.

I would have to guess that it is an RI. You should call your Vet and get an appointment ASAP.

Hey Will it sounds like you have a little snake with an upper Respitory Infection and i agree with Reptilian that you should get him/her to a good reptile vet ASAp. And until you can get him there i would say you should turn the heat up a little bit which sometimes can stiffle the onset of an RI. I wish you good luck and let us know what happens with the little guy, if you need any help please feel free to email me and ill help you as much as i can.. Good luck

Sincerely,
Rose Hipskind
