New to BDs.....color question.

Chibird Apr 06, 2004 02:16 PM

We got a 3 yr old female BD about 5 mos ago. She appeared to be normal color, but was not well cared for. We have been feeding lots of fresh greens/flowers, and now she has a creamy grey head and legs, and has gotten a nice orange/yellow right around her eyes/ears/and a strip above her beard. The new colors contrast so pretty against her normal color body.........is she normal color? or somthing else?

All beardies are really normal, the colorful ones are just a result of breeding nicely colored normal ones to each other over several generations to bring out the bright colors. My "normal" dragon has some nice orange by her ears and really cool looking eyes, but she is still normal.

Thank you PHEve, She is our first real "pet" reptile. I am amazed at the change that has come over her, and she is the SWEETEST thing! I am hooked!!
