Showing eggs so soon???

RedQuake Apr 06, 2004 03:59 PM

Flame laid her eggs on March 24th. Today as i'm cleaning out all of the tanks she comes up to the front, stands upright against the glass and there in her tummy are two very distinct eggs. Is it normal for them to show this much after just 13 days? In any case, more eggs on the way WOOHOO

Also, I bought a new 40 gal tank to go on the bottom of the 40 gal stand (it holds two tanks). I was going to split the tank and put Flame on one side with Karma on the other, mostly cause they both appear gravid (although Karma doesn't show as much as flame and hasn't produced any eggs yet). Would it instead, be ok to put them together or do gravid females tend to fight more or something? I know i'll be able to tell who laid the eggs should i find any, Flame lost about 50% of her gerth (sp?) and it was obvious she had laid, thats why i went searching for eggs.

I'm trying to group all of my girls together and keep them all to one side of the room. The only one i want to keep separate is Bubbles, she seems so fragile and hides all the time. I could put Flame and Karma together and Abby and Bell together. Abby will eat from my hand but i think has been intimidated by the other 4 girls and won't come out to the dish anymore. Nala isn't having any trouble getting worms....she bulldozes her way in hehe. Its just Abby thats stopped over the past little while. I think her and Bell would be good together as Bell is rather laid back.

Do any of you who keep your geckos grouped together, group according personality or behaviour? (of course keeping in mind that they are all female, or one male in a group of females and that they are all in the same size range!).

Thanks for the info and any suggestions you might have

I just want to get some input. Bubbles is a beautiful gecko, i'll try to post pics soon. She has a very short wide head, one funky eye and alot of folds to her skin despite being rather fat, her tail is very nice and fat. She almost has a sad look to her face and i find her 100% of the time curled up in her humid hide. She eats a few worms a day and i'm sure she's healthy despite the visual differences.

Right now she is placed where she can't see other geckos, and they can't see her. Would it be to stressful to such a shy gecko to be placed along side another tank and be able to see my other geckos?

I would prefer to keep her by herself but in moving the tanks around i find that putting two 15 gal beside eachother helps with space. I could always put those background pics for tanks along one side right if i find she's becoming stressed?

Thanks
