I picked my dragon out from the group because it was the tamest. I now believe that it's not as tame as I hoped. It lets me pick it up okay, and sits on my chest peacefully (although it does look around alot in an almost calculating manner). Once it gets comfortable, it will move up onto my shoulder, at which point I grab it. When I grab it, it starts to wriggle around and I am forced to let it fly into its cage.

My question:
Is it a good idea to not grab it when it moves to my shoulder (one time it did jump from my hands to the floor)?

mine has jumped to the floor a few times as well. I think it will settle after he becomes more comportable. How long have you had it?

I've had him for about two weeks, which I realize isn't long, but I'm wondering if I should leave him unchecked on my shoulder where I can't really keep an eye on him (its a good distance from my shoulder to the ground). I don't know if he's scurrying to my shoulder because he likes it up there or if he is trying to escape.

They never like being grabbed, it makes them think they are caught by a predator. I always just let mine hang on, and move around freely.
