Do I need to worry?

jwainhause Apr 06, 2004 06:47 PM

My 10 month old male has lost about 12 grams over the past week or so (537 grams down to 525 grams). Is this too little to worry about? He is noticably sluggish/inactive and is eating much less to the point that I am assuming this could be brumation although I have no experience with this. Is he too young to brumate? Heat/light and most other factors seem to be constant.

Last week he went almost 3 days without pooing so I gave him a long bath. He went potty the very next day but his eating is still slow. He is barley touching his greens/vegies, perhaps a few bites a week. He has also gone from 3 or 4 silkworms a day to maybe 1 every other day.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It's time for a fecal check. Weight loss is never a good thing. Normally, when a dragon brumates, it's metabolism slows enough that it doesn't lose weight.
It sounds like there could be reason for concern and a check up.
