Vet Visit

spike802 Apr 06, 2004 06:54 PM

I will be taking my two Russians, Spike and Ophelia, to the vet soon, and I was wondering about collecting a fecal sample. They always seem to poop every time I take them out and let them roam on the carpets, so that's not the problem, but I was wondering how far ahead I should collect it, and what I should put it in. Is a plastic baggie enough? I could be way off base here, any help is greatly appreciated.

The fresher the better, or at least less than 12 hours old, that's what my vet told me. Just pop it into a ziploc and stash it in the refrigerator until your appointment.

Hope so, too. Dealing with parasites is a pain sometimes. Good luck!

How do you know if they have parasites? Can you see them in the poop?
