I'm confused, can anyone tell me why.....

when I upload a photo to webshots.com, and then use it's URL (at webshots.com) in the body of my message to post that photo on kingsnake, I have a problem?

It works both in the preview and in the post initially, but then, in a couple of minutes to hours, I get the dreaded box with a red X in it. (It almost seems like kingsnake doesn't like the format of the URL, or webshots is doing something, but I can't figure it out) If kingsnake doesn't like it, why does it work initially? If I upload the photo to kingsnake's photo hosting area, no problem. I am asking because I am out of room at kingsnake's area, and would like to use free photo hosting sites if possible.

(I have clicked on the properties of the "box with red X in it" and copied and pasted its URL, and that works fine also.-so it doesn't look like webshots is causing the problem, since the URL still works)

Here is the URL under webshots,
http://community.webshots.com/s/image11/8/57/14/131785714oIENdW_ph.jpg

the url under kingsnake,
http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/data/11313reducedfirstleoparedtort-med.jpg

and the photo

Thanks,
Rodney

Webshots doesn't allow you to post photos hosted on their sites at other websites. So you can't view a Webshots photo from KS.com.

When you are previewing it, it is already in your browser's cache, so when webshots gives the dreaded X, your browser just brings up the stored image from its image cache. Since we haven't seen the photo yet, we are stuck with the X.

I had the same problem with www.fotki.com. The site kept "moving" my pictures in cyberspace. The URL would stop working. I have had better luck with www.photobucket.com.
