Thanks!! I was gonna say I cut them about 2 weeks ago and it seems like it is time again, lol. Do you use regular human clippers or reptile ones? The first time I used regular ones, then I went out and bought some reptile nail clippers, so we will try those out tomorrow....

I trim Dexter's nails every 1-2 weeks. I stopped using a clipper when he was about a year old. Now I use a Dremel tool. He is much happier with that. He didn't like the pressure of the clippers. With the Dremel, it's just zzt, zzt, zzt, etc., and I'm done in minutes. He doesn't seem to even notice. You just have to be careful to not heat up his nails too much!

Hey thats a good idea. Never thought about the dremmel tool. Gonna have to try that, ozzys nails need done badly, i have been too chicken to try it. Im curious how far to go on them, i mean you just take off the tip right? Gonna have to try that this weekend. Cause the last time i put him back in his cage, and well he wasnt ready to go lol, he scratched the heck out of me. Thanks for the tip.

You just trim the tip, not the thicker part of the nail. There is a vein in there that will bleed if you cut too far up. Also, when I use the dremel, I use the flexible shaft drive with a grinding stone. This allows me to keep the noisy part of the unit away from him.
