Do all leos have sharp nails?

nimmerfroh Apr 06, 2004 11:22 PM

I just realized when my gecko is sitting on my hand, arm, or leg, her nails are pretty sharp and dig into my skin, more like a little prickly feeling. Are all leos like this? I assume it's for getting a better grip when climbing or walking.

Hi

Yes, this is normal. When I have mine on my bar arm and then put them back in there homes, I will notice these little scratches on my arm.

All of mine have really sharp nails. They can scale a verticle wall as long as its made of cloth, like a pillow. Those nails help them climb. Sometimes, one will try and climb up my arm when its slightly tilted, those claws start digging in and leave red marks. I've gotten scratched pretty good a time or two also.
