first day egg care questions

weiside Apr 06, 2004 11:54 PM

Hi, I just got 2 eggs in the morning. The first clutch that this female laid turned out to be infertile, which I heard is the usual case for first time layers. This time, the eggs look much more white and firm, but still I have a few questions. What should the humidity be? I'm using perlite with water added, plus a dish of water in the hovabator. The humidity seems constant around 60-70. I can't seem to stop bugging the eggs, and I noticed what seems like a water mark on the bottom of both eggs. Looks as if liquid is collecting on the bottom of the egg and seeping through?? Is this going to be a problem, with mold etc.? Anyways, I could be worrying entirely too much.

The mating was a tangerine male and jungle female. I can't wait to see what kind of beautiful baby leos they produce!

Hi

The humidity around the eggs should be at 85 percent.
