tokay_dude1 Apr 07, 2004 01:37 AM

I just went to check on my eggs and the bigger fertile one was lookin kinda wet and was soft..i just took some of the moisture out of the perlite and the container i have them in...does this mean this egg is now dead? or will it survive?

Just an opinion, but for a little while, while your still up, why don't you leave the lid of the container for a little bit and then put it back into the incubator. Put the top back on before going to bed.

No matter how far along they are, I’d would try to keep things as consistent as possible. It can be hard on the developing gecko when temperature and humidity bounce around a lot. I’d just let nature take it’s course. Keep us posted!

They've been incubating for about 36 days, im really worried about this egg...it's only happening to one...the biggest one..the smaller fertile one is fine..lol this is really confusing, TLB, im going to try that...hopefully this egg will be okay...man i really hope it doesnt die on me...

correction...they have been incubating for 40 days with no problems till now...

Could be getting ready to hatch if they are at 90 degrees. Otherwise they still have some time to go.

i have an aquarium thermometor inside the incubator...thats probably not the best to use being as it is pretty old...i think..it may be over 4 years old since my dad had it in a tarantulas tank from when he got it to when it died(5 years) so the temp readings my not be accurate(sp?) right now it says its between 83*f and 87*f...but i just candled the egg and all i see is veins, no outline of a body...it confused me that its just that one egg thats like this...all the other eggs are fine...

Hi

With that really bad thing that happened to you, you are due for some good things to start coming your way.

You said that you saw some red veins, so don't give up on that egg.

Take Care, TLB
