Also, how often should they be fed ants, every week every two weeks? Someone told me once I a month. Yes I have read would just like more answers then a few websites. Thank you

These are Desert Horned Lizards, Phrynosoma platyrhinos. In a 55 gallon enclosure, there is going to be a lot of competition for resources. "Are they goings to fight?" Define fight. HLs are not naturally agressive towards each other. There will be competition for resources: mates, food resources, etc. The bigger the enclosure, the better. Ants should be offered every day. HLs in the wild do not feed every other day, or once a week, or once a month. They eat on a daily basis.

Well how often should I improvise with crickets? How well do these guys do in captivity?

If you want to maintain the HL's over the long term, you'll ultimately will have to feed them Harvester ants as this is its primary food source in the wild. Otherwise, sooner or later they will stop eating crickets and perish. The good news is that you can buy the Harvester ants in bulk at either: www.antsalive.com or www.infowest.com
Good luck,

lester is right about the horny toads.. i live in a place where i go out every morning before work and big up ants for my lizard... put the ants in the fridge for about 5 to 10 minutes (till they look dead and stop twitching) then put em in the tank. the ants will start to come out of the "coma" and the lizard will get his grub on. what my friend did, before he got a bigger tank, was put them each in diffrent cages for feedings. and horny toads much like people crap usually once aday. so clean the cage daily of feces or u might get mites. also, lester, when u came out here, u said horny toads cant climb... one climbed up my stairs and down the side of my porch... but its all grooved. and carpeted
