Incubator

clemie Apr 07, 2004 10:53 AM

Hi, Just wanted to say that i built one of those fish tank and aquarium heater incubators 4 days ago ready for my cremsicle's eggs. Having never built one before i was slightly scepticle but it works really well and mantains temps between 80 - 82 degrees at all times.

If you need a cheap, easy to build and very effective incubator id have a go at putting one of these together.

I did the same thing last year, and yeah, the temp stayed fine, but it dried out fast, and I ended up loosing two eggs before I got smart and moved them into a hovabator. It can and will work fine, as long as you keep a good eye on the temps and humidity, even if it seems fine, check it VERY often throughout incubating.

I made mine using a large cheap foam cooler, an aquarium heater, and using digital thermometer with probe. Works like a charm. And my temps are steady on.
