I.D. help please

Not a good pic. This was found just south of Arlington Tx. Some kind of rat snake? Any help would be appreciated.

here it is This a terrible picture. The color is dark and doesnt show much of the snake. Its a tiny hatchling. The picture doesnt show his back. The saddles are not connected forming a solid line down the middle. his belly is solid white

Looks like a dekay's snake to me.

Thanks for the help. I looked it up and thats exactally what it is. A Texas brown snake. Im amazed you could see that from such a poor picture. One more question. This snake was brought to me. Would it be alright to release it in an area different from where it was found? We have a natural wet land area here at the school where I work.

Yeah, that would be an alright place to let the snake go. Actually, you can find those just about anywhere, even in the middle of cities. Good Luck!
