Reptiles this year are 2 garters and a ringneck. The vernal pools have countless newts, wood frogs, greens, peepers and spotted salamanders. I noticed eggs attached to a branch that looks like translucent cotton, but I dont know what it is.

While looking at a mass of eggs this afternoon, I noticed tadpoles on one side. I dont know if they were just emerging, but they were all grouped together. They were very small, and completely black. Does anyone know what species would hatch so soon?

small and completely black at this time sounds like wood frog tadpoles
