Dwarf Shield Tailed Agamas

saxxy27 Apr 07, 2004 01:09 PM

I'm wondering if anyone out there keeps Dwarf Shield Tailed Agamas... I've never kept agamas before, and I've only found two care sheets on this particular species, so I would really appreciate some feedback on the ease/difficulty of keeping these guys. Thanks!

Yep, that seems to be one of the only two care sheets available... They're so cool looking, I can't figure out why more people don't keep them! (which is why I'm afraid that they are difficult to keep or something because they're really not too expensive...)

I keep a Xenagama batilifera male since a few weeks. I am hoping to find some ladies for him

The reason why they are not often kept is that they are no much available, I think.
They are not often imported, I think, because they live in an area of Africa where it is not safe to catch lizards

This is the little boy...

On this page mike.messageboard.nl/6271/viewtopic.php?t=61 you can see some pics of his terrarium.
