collapsing eggs

LeprdGeckoGuy Apr 07, 2004 01:52 PM

I have 2 eggs which have been incubating at 80 degrees and 90% humidity for a week now but they have recently started collapsing, and they are fertile. Pleez give ideas on how to fix this if possible or tell me why they have collapsed.
Thanx

Hi

You could check to see if there is enough moisture in the substrate and also the humidity around the eggs should be 85 percent.

If there isn't enough moisture in the substrate, the moisten a papertowel (not soaking wet) and lay it over the eggs overnight. Hope these thoughts help.

Also, is perlite or vermiculite better for incubation?

Hi

I think that is a matter of choice. Some people like one and some the other, and everybody has there own opinions as to why.
