Nikon Coolpix 5700 or Olympus C-5060 Zoom

Nicki Apr 07, 2004 03:31 PM

Does anyone have a suggestion as to which of these two cameras might be better for photographing herps, mostly indoors, but some in nature.

Thanks!
Nicki

Take a look at the Nikon Coolpix 8700, before you buy either of those.

Ok, I have looked at that, and it's a fair bit more expensive than the 5700 or the Olympus. Aside from that, is there any reason the Olympus would be more or less good for taking shots of quick-moving herps? Or of herps behind glass?

Thanks!

Check out my webpage. Most of the pics are from the Nikon Coolpix 4300, but you get bigger and better quality prints from the Coolpix 5700. All of the 2004 pictures on my site are from the 5700.

The Coolpix 8700 is a very nice camera. The only flaw that it has is the higher noise...which made them take away ISO 800 and have to add ISO 50 to get comparable noise levels. But it focuses faster, zooms faster and smoother, plus has an AF assist lamp. It costs quite a bit more as well.
