Jax storing sperm???

gidyen39 Jun 13, 2003 01:28 PM

Is it possible that female jackson's chameleon store sperm from her previous breeding? The babies are 9 weeks old now and she is showing gravid colors again. Could she be gravid without breeding to a male again? Thanks!

because mating is a tiring and dangerous process for all chams (and most other reps) that they do indeed store sperm - my dwarf panthers have laid 1 clutch each, and i am waiting for another, that should have fetile eggs, and getting 400$ a pice for each of them, i am definitely happy that they do store sperm (help cover the cost of them)

Wow, Jason - I have seen them on the net for $35...why would she pay so much? How much did you pay for yours? (you don't have to answer that if you don't want to)

Well for one thing you will not be able to sell them to her if she lives in NY and you live in Canada without exporting them. You will have to be licensed to export and she will have to be licensed and go through the entire importation process to bring them into the US as they are C.I.T.E.S. APP II animals. I also think she may have offered you $400 for 15 of them and not $400ea for up to 15 of them. She can get them here in the US for $35-$50ea for captive born and bred animals.
