Once and for all lets get this straight...

Below a question was asked what makes a banana blizzard. I agreed that it was a blizzard x patternless breeding. I am assuming some of the babies will come out blizzard, some patternless, some banana blizzards (as being a mix) I did some old archive look ups and this does seem to be true, but there was someone who strongly agreed this was not true. What's the facts?

According to what I've read and understand and according to geckogenetics.com

A patternless x blizzard breeding will get you one thing, and that's 100% hets, for both patternless and blizzard.

Then these siblings can be bred together to get the banana blizzards.

But a het x het breeding will get you four things 25% Normal het. Blizzard and Patternless, 25% Patternless het. Blizzard, 25% Blizzard het. Patternless, and 25% Banana Blizzard.

You are correct in what makes a banana blizard. It requires a patternless and a blizard. Since both of these traits are ressive. Just breeding them together gives you doulbe hets. The banana blizard is the homogeneous state of both traits. If you want to read more about it go to prehistoric pets web site and it is all there.

Breeding Blizzard x Patternless will give you all normals dbl het. for Banana Blizzard(Patternless Blizzard). That's all will you get, unless one is het. for the other. You must breed the dbl hets together to get blizzard, patternless, more hets, and maybe a banana blizzard.

Thank you all for your replies. I was at least close to being right.

Well, since I was the one that started the other post, I'll weigh in.
I'd originally thought that it took 2 dbl hets to make the banana. I'd actually inquired about finding blizzards het. for patternless or vice versa. I was then informed in an extremely condescending way that they were a line bred trait.

After searching the archives, I'm seeing both sides here, so anymore responses would be super-appreciated by me at least.

Also nice to know that even if I am wrong, at least I'm not the only one

Banna Blizzard are rare and most are just Hi Yellow. The prestcico pet made mistake becasue orginaly they cross Patternless to blizzard and it leads them think it is Patternless Blizzard. Only few breeder has true Patternless Blizzard. Be careful when you are buying Banna blizzard and most are just Hi Yellow Blizzard.

I took my bliz het females this year and bred them to a male Patternless. ALthough I am only going to have possible doubles I should hatch some out within a couple of years hopefully.
