Temperment???

Does a burm's temperment change as he matures? My guys is a bit jumpy and I'm wondering if he will grow out of it or not. He is 10 months old.

Yes. The general pattern that I have experienced is that burmese calm down and develop "nicer", more trusting dispositions the longer you have them, IF you interact with them on a regular basis. This won't work with a burmese that is never handled or interacted with. And "Handled" can include petting, rubbing, etc while the snake is in the cage. It doesn't have to be literally picked up every day.

It can be the oposite results with a burm that is never interacted with and an ignored animal can and likely WILL become more defensive, jumpy and distant. It is advisable to keep these animals familiar with you.
