About night-time lighting....

Bezzerra Jun 13, 2003 01:40 PM

I know that beardies don't need a heat lamp at night but I was wondering if the light that comes off of my snake's infared heat lamps (located on top of their cages) will effect my new beardie. Can dragons see infared light?

My snake cages are in the same room as my beardie's cage and wondered if the infared light would be a problem.

it should be fine, i used to use a red lamp for my dragons in my last house, it would get very very cold where we were at night (yes even here in so cal) that particular room would drop below 65, we had really high ceilings and were by the beach.

hi
i would not give them any light r heat at night .
i have read here people beardies acting strange and after whe told them swithc the night light of the beardie start to act normal.
i would not use any night light .
only if the temp go lower then 55-50 then you can use a ceramic night heater.
yep i think they can see the infrared they have a 3 eye on top of there head to see uvb/uva ,so i gues they see that red light to.
so i think it wil take them out bioritme .

i think i also would be sleepy if i got whole day light on also while am sleeping

the infared lights are not in or on top of my bearded dragon's cage. The lights are on my snakes's cages but they are in the same room with my dragon so I didn't know if the red lights would be visible to her.

She seems to sleep pretty. I walked in there several times throughout the night and each time, she was conked out on her tree. So I guess it doesn't hinder her, after all. But that is a good point about the third eye. Never thought of that.
