I keep many rare and unusual lizards

Hi
I don't think Malahelo is existing in captivity at all. I have seen the picture on Alinereptiles too, but they don't answer. To find out if the gecko is Malahelo, Alluaudi or Guentheri, you need to count the supraabial scales, so its not easy to see on a picture....
They will probably be pretty expensive. Alluaudi has been for sale once in europe at the price of about 2500 euro for 3,1 - wc animals. Malahelo is even rarer than Alluaudi!
Regards
Kristian
They don't answer when I ask for more details, I mean....
I just read that they believe U.malahelo to be extinct because the people of madagascar have logged the only area that they were thought to extist.
I was taught if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it so i wont.
If you talk to importers with good reputations they will tell you they havent seen guentheri for a couple years. Some importers will try to sell you odd colored sikore and claim to get them in all the time. Its just not true.
I have the may 1997 issue of Reptiles mag infront of me right now and Ron and Chris's(the people that found malahelo)picture looks NOTHING LIKE THE SIKORE LOOK ALIKE IN THAT PIC. NOTHING!!
There are subspecies that have yet to be named, found, seen, and i have seen pics of some Uros that are FOR sure animals that are not apart of the current taxonomy data for the Uroplatus.
"Thats all i got to say about that" Forest Gump.........

that they are called by the name on their homepage!
Malahelo are believed to be exstinct, but you never know what comes out of searching in Mada-forests.... Many subspecies are yet to be described, and it is not many years since they found for instance Malahelo and Pietschmanni (And Paroedura Masobe too) so if we are lucky, they will find Malahelo somewhere else on Mada....if we are lucky...
If you buy Guentheri WC, better watch close, because if it turns out to be Alluaudi or Malahelo, you are really lucky!
Regards,
Kristian
...the Guentheri he is selling does not seem to be Guentheri at all..... No Guentheri has dermal fringes. Perhaps Sikorae? (Hard to tell from the pictures.)
