what do you mean 'keeping him or not' didnt you JUST get these snakes recently? And you have already been talking about trading them in for something else? And as for the hiding snake all I would concern myself with is his health. If you wanted a pet to entertain you you should have gotten a dog or cat. Snakes aren't exactly the most interactive animal and if they don't need food or shelter or more/less heat they aren't likely to go out of their way to go for a walk when in the wild this could end up with them getting seen by a predator and eaten.

Mike,
Sue's post was a little feisty but mostly correct in my opinion. Just mentally omit the parts where she gets into your business. I've said a hundred times. My motto is..."A hidden snake is a happy snake." If I come into my herp room and all my enclosures look empty, I know I'm doing something right. If their out and about and pacing around, I try to figure out what they need. A lot of times they just want food or a mate which we can't give them anytime they want. But sometimes it can mean your temps are off or a lot of other things.
