My Anole Tank

Meli Apr 08, 2004 05:48 AM

I have posted a link to some pictures of my Anoles and their tank. It is a 29 gallon, but I still have one Anole that doesn't stay green much. She turns very dark on the piece of driftwood I have placed in the tank, and turns light brown, almost green when she is on a leaf. Everyone eats good and is healthy, so I'm not sure why she's being brown. I think my tank is big enough for three, isn't it?

Thanks,
Joanna

I don't keep my anoles together, so I'll let someone more experienced answer the question of the brown one. I believe 29 gallon (30)is the recommeded minimum for 3 anoles. Maybe one of the others is mean to her?

Nice looking tank, though!

I think we kept our anoles in a 10 gallon tank when there was one and then added another anole, after some of our fish died we put our frogs (2) anoles (2) and three small tetras in a 20 gallon terrarium. The size was okay but the anoles would chase the frogs and the frogs would jump into the water, eventually the anoles jump in too. My first anole lived 5 years in that setup too. Some anoles just like to be brown i guess.
