ok its nothing "major" but i bought him some rats..and they gave me a "hairless" rat, it was more like someone gave it a buzz cut but w/e and he refuses prekilled food i tried everything but no...so my boyfriend put the rat in and he stuck at it a few times and went into his hide, well he pissed the rat off so my boyfriend didnt want him getting bit so my boyfriend wacked the rat against the glass hoping to "knock it out" and it went into convulsions, so he had to finish it so he wacked it in the head and that was it, well it was the saddest thing ever, so we put it in his cage and he ate it!! i was happy that he finally took prekilled but do you think he didnt do it himself because it was hairless?? im confused. im very sorry for the long post too. oh yeah it was bloody, did that have an effect? thanks so much!

I doubt that the rat being hairless had anything to do with the boa not wanting to kill it but I suppose it's possible, if he is used to rats with hair, that he was "confused"for lack of a better word). And I'll have to disagree with Oakley here. There have been many people who have gotten stubborn snakes to eat by enticing them with a bloody food item as opposed to a "clean" one. It worked for me on a few occasions. Good luck with your snake.

Sorry about the "booger" face. I don't know how it got in there.

Thanks alot! i just hope next time the poor little rat doesnt have to die like that. i rather see them fall asleep from the co2 thing they do. i actually kept one of the rats as a pet, i never seen a hairless rat lol. my boyfriends kids liked it anyway.

Ah yes. The old puppy dog eyes from the rat routine. Don't look them in the face or your snake will starve, lol.
