How do you tell the sex of a water snake.I know you could tell by the tail but sometimes its too difficult.so is there any other way to tell the sex of a water snake?

Size. Most large water snakes (3.5 ft or so and larger) are female. Most of the smaller snakes that under about 3 ft are male. That is a general guideline. You kind of have to catch a few and then be able to tell. Andy
