Beardies don't have heat sensors on their bellies, so heat mats really do no good and can actually be harmful. Basking lamps are the way to go with them.

heat mat is there night time heat source....as i live in scotland it gets cold at night time here...bout 65 degrees..would that be ok???

I would get one of the ceramic heat emitters for night time. They screw right into a light socket. That's a little cool but they should be able to handle it as long as it doesn't get any colder than that. All I've ever heard of heat pads/rocks with beardies has been bad, I've never actually used one myself though.
