female cleaning herself

gecko27 Apr 08, 2004 12:31 PM

i introduced my male with my female last night. the male exhibited mating behavior(shaking his tail and biting my female)but i did not see actual mating occur. today my female was licking the vent area. could this be a sign of mating? i heard they clean themselves after mating? thanks

Yeah, its normal, they clean the area, and help it go back in to prevent prolapses. Its a good sign they've mated. Good luck
