thep ossibiltiy of your little guy ingesting sand is very very good.

I have never put my guys on sand, nor never will.
There is a very clear picture of WHY sand is terrible for dragons, and deathly ..

I would recommend taking your dragon of sand asap. Why on earth would you chance it.
It's not natural, and does not naturally go through a dragon as many think.

Unless you interested in getting your dragon's belly pumped out (which is extremely costly not to mention traumatic and life threatening) by the vet ..

I believe my beardie "Drusilla" is impacted. She is bloated & has a "sand" substance coming out of her vent. We have been giving her warm baths, massaging the bowel region & enemas every night (yeah, try that for a fun time) and it seems to really be helping. What should I use besides sand? Everything I read before getting my beardies (had Spike for almost 3 years & no problems) said use sand.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Get them off of it ASAP. Babies should be kept on paper towel or newspaper. Especially at this young age they will lick everything and will ingest it. Some people keep adults on sand without probs but not a good idea for babies. If this is the same stuff as calcisand, I wouldn't use it ever.

I saw that pic on a different site, it was actually from another beardie lover who I think witnessed the surgery or something, anyway, that pic was loaded on her server I believe, or it was a link she posted. I have looked for it too and have been unable to locate it. Unfortunately I have not heard from this particular person in a while, I think some personal stuff going on, but if I hear from them again, I will ask if I can post her pic up here.
