Without something next to the snake for size comparison it's difficult to tell how thick your BP really is.

Go for something 1-1.5 times the widest part of your BPs body.

looks to be almost the exact size as my snake. I recently tried a small rat and she took it. Since I've given her another and she took it fine too. All you can do is try. They know what they can swallow, and if they can't no worries, just put it back in the frezzer. If anything happens while she is swallowing it, just gently and slowly pry her mouth open and remove it. If you're really worried, try rat pups and then some pretty small rats and then a small rat. I hope this made sense...

I've always feed outside the cage in a rubbermade container. I dont have to worry about her thinking my hand is food if she get's really hungry. And as soon as I put her in the container she knows its feeding time and gets in this "oooh, I get to kill something (thats already dead)" stance.
