Worms....

nejoum Apr 08, 2004 02:30 PM

I want to get some worms for my Casper.
Trying to increase his desire to eat.
I hear everyone talking about night crawlers....
Those are BIG (long) worms!
What kind of worms should I get?
Red Crawlers,Earth worms, Night Crawlers.

Depends on his size. If it is a baby 5" or less including tail then get red wigglers. If it is larger than that but less than 8" tail included than go with small nightcrawlers, troutworms, dew worms, or earthworms. Any thing larger than that will amaize you with how many full sized nightcrawlers it can eat.

Yesterday one of my females inhaled 2 and then tried for a third. Apparently her gullet was full as the third one crawled back out!

I have a little gal about 18 months old who is about 8" total and she eats nightcrawlers but if they are too fat she can't seem to get them in her mouth as easily so she eats 2 or 3 smaller ones.

If you give your dragon a nightcrawler that is too much for it it will slurp down what it wants and then will grind it's jaw until the remainder falls to the ground.

Hope this helps!

my babies (Spike and Tracker) bot heat "Earthworms" European Nightcrawlers/BIG red wrigglers. Erowen eats Nightcrawlers, sometimes 2 but Mostly just one (and like yesterday and the day before, she left them all to dry out)

ONCE I had Tracker eat one, then spit it out. The same day Erowen did the same with her second Flat tail, AND my Daughters Ball Python tried to swallow a live ratpup, then spit it out, then, ate it again (it was a WEIRD 38 hour day for reptiles in my house)

And another time Spike (I think it was Spike) turned down his worm, but then went to Erowens Dish and ate 2/3rds of one of her Fattails (Canadian Nightcrawlers)

I REALLY hope I get the new Dragon tonight
