Red Tegu owners....help.......

lilroach56 Apr 08, 2004 03:38 PM

This is for all of you who own red tegus. We all know that reds need vitamin C to shed properly. I was wondering if anyone has tried or is willing to try feeding their reds the SDZ diet but with a vitamin C pill or two added into it. Anyone got any info on that?

I'm no expert, but I worked at GNC for 2 years and they make you learn about this stuff. You have a good idea, but you may want to just get some vitamin c powder. GNC has it, but check with a vet first because the stuff is meant for humans not tegus! Vitamin c breaks down really quickly, and exposing a crushed pill mixed with the moist turkey may nullify the vitamin c. You could just sprinkle the powder on the SDZ at the moment of feeding. Again, I'm no expert, but I hope this helps.

i dont have a red tegu (i wish though) but i was just wondering, because it would make feeding reds a lot less expensive, and hassling.
