SNAKE ESCAPE.....NEED LOTS OF HELP......

lilroach56 Apr 08, 2004 05:08 PM

My BP Felix Recently Escaped. he escaped between the hours of 6 pm last night and 5 pm. today (23 hours). I have done a minor search of my room (i think felix is still inside) and am about to do a major searchy of it. I blocked off all the exit routes of the 3 rooms i think it may be in (mine, parents, and guest room), those three rooms are all at the end of the same hallway. I turned up the thermostat to 80 degrees. I have also placed a heat pad in my room and turned the lights off while i am typing so it may go onto the heat pad. Any ideas of where to look, how to attract it, keep it alive. Also there is a hole in the drywall inside my closet, do you think felix would have been able to find it? his cage is about 6 feet straight to the hole but about 15 feet to slither to it. I'll keep all of you posted.

I would put the cats aside and try the mouse it`s your best bet do this at night in the dark.

If you have cats around they will most likely find it and it wont be a pretty site.

Turn the lights out and wait for the noise.

You can also place some flour on the floor if there's no carpet. It might give you a trail.

Good luck!!

I have four cats and a german shepherd, and all three of mine escaped a few weeks ago. We found the two older ones in the only carpeted room, one hiding in a roll of carpet and the other under a laundry basket. Our littlest one was gone for almost three weeks, when I found a site that said to fill the bathtub and leave it. Sure enough, my five year old found her in the tub one morning getting ready for school! None of my other animals even knew they were out.

How much water should i put in the bathtub? Also my bathtub is like 15 inches above the ground, do you think i should make a "ramp"?

Hello! My ball used to sneak out all the time and we always found him in the same two places-his favorites! He would either be curled up right on top of the heat vent on the floor, or he would be curled up in the back of the shelf that his cage is on. Also, whenever he is in my room he loves to go under the covers of my bed. I suggest looking in all of the places that you wouldn't think your snakes would be. I also suggest looking in places near where the enclosure is located. Definetly look in your closet if there is a gap between the door and the floor that they might be able to get under. Best of luck!
