Water Bowl Ideas

Devilish1182 Apr 08, 2004 07:26 PM

This summer I'm going to begin building a new enclosure for my 10 footer and wanted ideas as to what I should use for water containment. I'm thinking of something like 12'Lx3.5'Wx3.5'H for the cage. I was thinking of putting some type of pond that will be built into the floor(I'm gonna have the enclosure on some type of stand so the pond coule hang underneath and be supported by it). Would the weight of the pond be too much for the floor of the enclosure even with something supporting it from underneath? How would I go about putting a drain in it to make cleaning easier? Would this pond be doable or should I just stick with a plain jane regular water bowl? I'm trying to make all my decisions before I actually start building, so I don't change it up in the middle of it. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I don't know how far back in the threads you would have to go, but Joan (jfmoore) had a cool thing for hide boxes. It can be rolled out of the cage and the burm can lay it in if it wants.

Thats what I plan on using for a larger water bowl/soak tub for inside the cage.

It might be a page back in the threads.

Goodluck,

Richard

Before you build so big, make sure it will fit through the door. My first cage I ever built was for an iguana. I built it in one of the bedrooms in my house. When I was done I realized it was to big to fit through the door. I had to remove the window and frame and slide it through the opening. It took 5 people and we broke a window right in our faces while trying to get it out. The cage I e-mailed you about, I'm building it in sections which will stack, then screw and glue. This way when I move (I'm military) I can disassemble it and re-assemble at my new loc.
