Krawf4 Apr 08, 2004 07:48 PM

Hi. I am in need of some help on creating a living vivarium to house a hatchling corn or two in for a while. I am doing it for a project i school and i was wondering if anyone could give me some guidelines on creating a vivarium or if anyone knows of a site that offers the same. Thanks in advance.

if you are going to be housing 1 baby corn a 10 gallon enclosure would be nice.a pair you would want 15-20 gallon .remember you dont want the enclosure to big as it could stress them into not eating.that can also happen if you have more than one animals in the cage but usually wont happen i just had to seperate a kenyans from the 2 cagemates it had so it would finly eat.you can use aspen bedding ,or compacted bedding such as bed-a-beast i lke that over eco earth .for cage decor you need a hide box preferably on each side of the cage both warm and cold side .ad wood and other decor to the habbitat some corns like to climb up but if also had some that immediatly dig into the substrate.
hope this helps

Why does more space stress the animal out?

small snakes feel safer in confined spacerather than get lost in a huge cage .
