What types of boas stay around 5-6 feet. I really like boas but don't want something too large. The best would be between 5-51/2 feet because my parents dont want me to have large snakes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I really lover Hogg Island boas. They stay about 5 to 6 feet at adult size. I got mine from Central Florida Reptile Breeders 2 years ago and requested a tame male that arrived healthy and has been no trouble since (there's an old pic of him in the cages forum dated a day or 2 ago under the "bad pic of new cage" thread). He's now almost 2 years old and about 4 ft long. At the time I purchased him, Central Florida Reptile Breeders had pictures of both his mom and dad posted. The dad was between 4 and 5 ft and the mom was between 5 and 6 ft. Good luck!
P.S. Make sure you know how big the parents are. Some of the Hoggs posted out there are not true Hoggs and get quite large.
thanks, does anyone know how large surinames and peruvians get to be? I really like their strong coloration. I am definately looking for something that eats nothing larger than rats.
If your looking for something that stays on the small side, I would suggest that you stear clear of Surinames and Peruvians. They get very large.
Hogs are a fine choice, but I think you should get a copy of the April (I think) issue of Reptiles Magazine. There is a great article in this issue that deals with all of the 'mini' boa constrictors. Also, check out www.boa-constrictors.com.
Good luck,
Eric
