Adult Borneo shedding monthly

SalS Apr 08, 2004 10:54 PM

I have an adult female borneo blood. For the past several months she has been shedding almost monthly. At first I thought it was because she was too wet. I have in a boaphile cage with a large sweater box full of water. Previously I had damp cypress mulch in there. Now its just the sweater box and newspaper. It has been like that for just over 2 months and she is opaque for the second time in those 2 months. Her sheds have been mostly complete. They don't all come off in one piece, but a large majority does.

Any idea why this snake is shedding so frequently?

Hey,
Sometimes if your snake has suffered an injury it is possible that they could go through several back to back sheds. Also, it is possible that you have given your snake large meals and it is going through a radical growth spurt. Can't say for sure, but either of these could be the case or maybe some other underlying cause; it's difficult to say with certainty.
