Do captive bred Saharans exist? I have yet to email deer fern farms and am hoping they'll be able to ship me some but I was hoping to find some near me. I live in southern california. I seem to be conveniently surrounded by WC babies but I won't give into temptation. I plan to get two females and house them together. First sign of aggression and I'll seperate them. I will house them in a 3'wx2'd vision enclosure while they're still babies. I've pretty much found all the appropriate info and got everything ready for them sept for substrate and heat. I'm still debating about calci-sand over playground sand. I've almost always done the more natural look and vivaria design and really seen a difference in behavior with all of my reptiles. I haven't been to the and Sarahan deserts so I'm not sure what the substrate looks like. So I'm still in the process. Um....they'll be my first uromastyx. Any tips and where I can find a reliable breeder for this specific species would be fantastic and I thank you in advance. I'm willing to purchase from across the country...anything to get them CB!!!

Captive bred Geryi do exit but are not as common as some other species.

Doug has had some success with Geryi so I would give him a call to see what he has available. If he does not have something right now, he may be able to direct you to someone who does.

My suggestion would be to use playground sand rather than calci-sand.
