Well, I am taking my babies to the vet on the 13th. There is nothing wrong with them as far as I know. Just wanted them to have a check up(exam). I got real lucky, I live in a small town and have a herp vet. Any suggestions on anything before I go will be helpful(transportation, how the doc should handle my babies, stuff like that).

Transport them in a box inside a box. What I have done is put a large gladware container inside an ordinary box with a towel insulated the area between the gladware and box. Then I put a folded washcloth (or handtowel depending on the size of the container)inside the gladware container but making sure my baby can crawl underneath. I put holes in the lid of the gladware container so I can close it call the way. And from there, depending on the weather, all you have to do is loosely close the box or wrap a towel around the box. I was transporting during the winter time so I kept a towel handy.

You want to know how the Herpetologist SHOULD or WOULD handle your turtles? Noone will handle your turtles better than a Herpetologist. My suggestion is to bring a pen and paper, and to ask lots of questions... there is alot of turtle info in this great forum and on the Web, but I've definitely learned more about turtle care from my Vet, than from all the hours I've spent reading and scrolling.
