Found a baby Queen snake

starrgrl222 Jun 13, 2003 03:11 PM

I've always been a sucker for baby animals and even more so snakes so how could I resist this cute little snake swiming right up to me wile I was siting on a submurged rock (me and some friends were swiming in a river in the mountains) and just let me pick it up. I guessed at the time it was a garter snake and didn't think it would be hard to keep him but I've just learned that it's in fact a Queen snake.... a female I'm guessing and well her head is about the sike of a pencil eraser.
Anyone have any info on how I can take proper care of her...what sort of set up she needs and such? I've slowly falling in love with her and want to give her the best home possible

thanks

Queen snakes are hard to take care of becuase of their diet. They consist on fresh molted crayfish, and are very picky eaters. But you can Try to get the baby queen snake eating small frogs, tadpoles, salamanders,or fish. But remember they are very picky eaters.Salamander, tadpoles, and frog arent a good steady diet most are WC and carry alot of parasites. But you can probabley find a link for the crayfish. If you do wish to keep it good luck!
