Jake,

I'm glad to hear you got him/her. Keep us posted with pics and updates.

Just FYI, they hatch larger than 2" total length...more like 3". Yours is 4 weeks old, so it's a bit larger than a fresh hatchling.

didn't really measure, it looks really small though. After measuring it with my thumb it appears to be around 4". I put some foood in a small dish in its cage, do you think it will try to eat some of that?

Jake,

I don't know what kind of food you put in there, but I'm sure it will eat some if it's babyfood or Crested (or Gargoyle) Gecko Diet. You may not notice any of the food being gone because they don't eat very much and they don't usually eat until it's dark. Don't worry, though...you'll soon see a little gecko poop in the cage.

i put some CGD and some baby food in the bowl. So if it is defecating that means it is eating? Do you think he will take a small mealworm? the petstore doesn't have any crickets small enough for it.

Jake,

Yes...if it's defecating, then it would have to be eating. The two kinda go hand in hand.

As for mealworms, I would not give them to a Crested...especially a young one. They have little nutritional value and they're difficult for them to eat and digest.

If you can't find crickets, just give it the CGD and babyfood until it's big enough to take the crickets you can get.
