Why don't you try resizing the pics? Even for people with large, hi res monitors, 1024x768 is unnecessarily large.
Try cropping or resizing down to something like 800x600 or even better, 600x450.

hahhaa...actually..i know that mine are ridiculously large...just that the software i use has a default resizing button that i have set to 1024 as default...cuz i usually resize them for my background 
...im kinda lazy to change the values...thats all...sorry about the inconvenience...if it is any...and ill try to resize my pics later....
