Odd Impaction Question

qime Apr 09, 2004 03:56 PM

I have a strange impaction question. I have six cats in my house and they produce quite a bit of fur. We have a HEPA filter going in our herp room and I vacuum at least once a week (usually more), but with six of them, there is still a lot floating in the air. The other day I had one of my leos out and I watched him lick a piece of fur off my pants. They don't lick fur all the time or anything like that, but they must eat some every now and then (I know I do). Is this an impaction danger?

Check closely his stool..one or two hair should not be a problem...but too much yes. I have three cats and i can find hair once in a while in my reptile enclosure. But i have a collared lizard for three year now and havent had a single problem with that.

I'm sure an occasional hair or two won't be too much of a hazard.even though there isn't a filter that will completely get rid of the hair you might want to look into a freidrich c-90 a. its rated as the best filter by consumer reports and has the highest CADR rating but they are quite expensive.
