I have read that UV-lights kills cryptosporidium and in most laboraties they use UV for desinfections. Leo is a typical nightliving lizard and many don't use UV becouse of that, maybe therefore some leo get crypto?

I have read that also. Usually in lab you use intense ultraviolet light, under a hood to kill microorganisms or you just get mutations with low levels of UV light (The UV light alters DNA, affecting reproduction, growth, ect.). I don't think there is enough UV light to kill crypto during the day. I'm not sure how reptiles use UV light for metabolism but I think Other reptiles that are day/night also get crypto. Can anyone confirm?
