Local edible desert plants?

I live in the desert in Arizona, and while out walking this morning noticed lots of lovely new Spring plants growing on the desert floor, and couldn't help but wonder,"Could my Uro's eat any of these?"
Does anyone know of good edible desert plants, beside our Western dandelion, that would be beneficial to our Uro's?
