Ive been taking pics of these things indoors and the best way to do it is outside when its either overcast or just when the sun starts going down. I took this pic about 3 hours after the other below and in a different spot. Also I took pics of my Easterns and the flash went off for them but not the Brooksi ! I guess all that yellow cancels the flash. Oh well here is a pretty good representation of my Brooksi King but his yellow is still a bit deeper with some orange cast to it.

I'm not sure but he is pretty thick. He just ate 2 rats 3 days ago so he look thicker than normal. As far as length he is 57" long I think serpwidgets measured him out to be, so almost 5 feet

Don't you have a program mode where you can turn the flash off? I usually use that mode in the shade because the flash usually messes up the photo.
