no doubt, thnx, one question tho, is it ok to keep the pinks n the fuzzys in the freezer a long while? thnx D.

DJW Apr 10, 2004 01:49 PM

yea , just as long as they are frozen solid (or stiff)-he he i know i'm sick - but you get the point , oh yea and the air tight bag is sealed tight - or you might get some freezer burn , but i don't worry about it

if you buy frozen rodents that are vacuum packed freezer burn won't be a issue.

NYCMikey2005 Apr 10, 2004 03:22 PM

cool thanks for the tip!

DJW Apr 10, 2004 04:21 PM

i've never had it be an issue? - with the pads , but now i have converted a closet with shelves that i have a bunch of large tupperware containers in full of snakes , i just have one heat lamp in there with the cheap bulbs you buy at co-op type places
i can take a pic if you want

NYCMikey2005 Apr 11, 2004 01:30 AM

sure why not, the guy who sold me them said its ok to use a regular buld but i wanna get an incandesant when the money is right, using a house light is allright rite?thnx. mike.i dont really use the light for heating just viewing.

If you only have one snake, I wouldn't buy 50 pinkies. Your snake will outgtrow the prey size before you run out of them. See if you can get a "mixed" size. 25/25 Or something along those lines.

thanks for the lookout Ace. ordering from rodent pro on mon, easter gift from mom. im going with the smallest amount probley just becuz of money factors, when he changes size i'll upgrade, im not worried about prey size i just gave my sub adult brooks three small pinks also after the third he was still in hun mode but i had none left to offer him i felt bad but whattya going do, last week i only threw him two so i didnt think that much of it. not trying to power feed just tryin to keep em fed well!until they tell me they have had enuff food thats when i feel good about a feeding! Thnks Mike.

mike......keep in mind that a major cost in ordering frozen rodents is shipping:special packaging, dry ice and overnight air service (unless you live near a rodent breeder).so to order a small amount would increase your cost per rodent, something to think about.by the way the last time i talked to rodentpro they DID NOT vacuum pack their feeders.i know that big cheese does,i've been told that vacuum packed feeders stay for two years, and once opened they last 3-4 months.
