I know that monitors like big chunks of snakes....cut them up and freeze the what they don't eat. Heard of a zoo doing that for komodo's but any large monitor would easily take it. Feed some babies for a LONG time. Other then that no idea.

Yeah, theres some photos on salvador.com(or whatever it is), of the guys Sulpher water chowing on a dead burm.. Pretty good idea, long as you know the cause of death...

Same thing you would do if your 100lb dog died at home. Either call animal control to pick up and dispose of the body (there might be a charge), take it to your vet for disposal (there WILL be a fee for cremation or how ever the vet disposes of animals), or see if there's a pet cemetary in your area that offers cremation. This is all assuming that the snake is legal in the area in which it died.

Well if your me you skin it... It is not realy too hard unless you are attached to the animal emotonaly. We just recently skined a DOA retic that was around 16' or so. I do have some photos but they are graphic.. Anyone into seeing that can email me.

I would probably put the body promptly in the refrigerator, then call a veterinary college, or college with a good biology department, and ask if they want it. I'm sure opportunities to do dissections on large reptiles aren't something they come by often, and the result will be beneficial for the herp community in general--vets with more reptile experience.
This is something that you can feel good about, whether you were extremely attached to the snake, or not, and it doesn't cost you money.
