Well this post answers my last question, that bangka is captive bred.Where did you find a cb at?

biggworm Apr 11, 2004 02:18 AM

LLL reptile in san diego if you call they might still have a few

Hey Big,
You finally figured it out! Nice going. Well, that sure looks like a Bangka from this end, with the bright red, and unusual striping very indicative of a Bangka. Awesome snake, can't wait to see what that turns into as an adult.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I highly doubt they are CB. I doubt they are even Bangka Island Bloods also. The price they are selling those for is just two low for them to be Bangkas. At the show they had these labled Bangka borneos ? Also, I have done some reasearch on Bangkas ( I was looking for a pair awhile back ) and have yet to see any CB animals yet. All the ones out there are imports, and sell for a lot of money. I saw an import pair of adults selling for 800.00. However, that is a nice looking red blood you have.

Hate to burst your bubble.BUSHMASTER REPTILES was just selling wild adult banka's for 300.00 shipped, and if you where at the SanDiego show they had quit a few for that price.Baby banka's have a totally noticeable head shape and pattern from sumatran. You can't tell in the pictures but banka's have a longer face.Just look at adult banka's.Sumatrans have a meatier head. Thanks, almost anybody who has worked with bloods can notice the difference just by looking at them. It's just like looking at a Peruvian boa and a Guyana.Read em and weep brother.

...such rudeness...completely unnecessary.

While those probably are Bangkas (Bushmaster did bring in some babies, to my knowledge they went to LLL in CA), CH and CB are 2 different things - those were most likely captive hatched, just to set the record straight.

Just my $.02

Blah, Blah Blah, Blah Blah. Dont get so pissed off man. I just hate seeing people saying that a snake is something it isn't. It is not a CB Bangka. I had said I doubt it was a Bangka at all because I have yet to hear of any captive breedings with them. Kara said it probrably is a Bangka, and she knows her Bloods (better than anyone else), so I wont argue that. I saw the babies they were selling as CB, also labled CB Bangka Borneos. Anyway, I did say that it was a great looking Blood, and it is. Sorry you took my reply the wrong way, it wasn't meant as an insult to you, but more towards the people that lable things the wrong way. Good luck with your new Blood, I hope it grows into a great looking, gentle animal for you.

Bob,I want to apologize for replying in such a kookish manner.I took your reply as a attack.I was totally on the deffence.A simple herper like me gets his hands on a kinda rare animal, and i get out of hand.Speaking OF RARE AND BEAUTIFUL check out the girl i picked up from KARA.I still really like her alot more.look at that stripe.
